As a British citizen, how can I keep working and living in Greece?

I am a British citizen living and working as a freelance photographer in Greece. Since the U.K. is no longer a member of the EU anymore, what types of documents do I need to apply for to keep staying in Greece?

In principle, until Dec. 31, 2020, the end of the transition period, the existing framework remains the same. Up to this point, you can travel within the Schengen area with your U.K. passport. Τhe bill laying down the terms of England's departure from the European Union has been already tabled in Parliament. It is essentially a framework for dealing with the consequences of Brexit. It will be regulated the recognition of the right of residence of British citizens and their family members who have resided in Greece by the date of departure, who have resided by Dec. 31, 2020, and those who have arrived after Jan. 1, 2021. Their entry and exit conditions in the country are also regulated. It is also important to know what is your residency status now in order to support more efficiently about the next steps.

If you are a resident in Greece before the transition period ends on Dec. 31, 2020, you will be able to stay. You must register as a resident in Greece if you want to stay for more than 3 months. Read registration certificate (Veveosi Engrafis) – permanent residence requirements. After Jan. 31, 2020, you may need to change your registration document for a new resident card. If you are already registered as a resident in Greece, or you register before Dec. 31, 2020, your residency documents will be considered as temporary national residence permits. Read the Greek government’s website for U.K. nationals living in Greece and submit any questions in the contact form provided. If there are changes to residency registration processes, we will update this guidance as soon as information is available. The rules on travel will stay the same until the transition period ends on Dec. 31, 2020. During this time, you can continue to travel to countries in the Schengen area or elsewhere in the EU with your U.K. passport.
