How do I renew my Greek Golden Visa?

I was an early adopter of the country’s Golden Visa program by buying real estate. However, my visa recently lapsed and has expired. I have not been to Greece in about two years. However, I want to renew my visa. Can I still do it even though the deadline has passed? Where do I begin?

The visa is granted for five years and renewed every five years if the property investment is retained. It is not necessary to live in the country in order to retain and renew the investor visa. However, citizenship can only be granted after seven years of residency. So if you still have the property you got for the Greek Golden Visa, just apply to renew it for another five-year period.

The law for Golden Visas is applicable as of 2015, and if you received that kind of visa certificate valid for five years, it is renewable in case you purchased a property of at least 250,000 euros. So you will need to check if you have indeed that kind of visa.

The resident permit for property owners is issued for five years and shall be renewed every five years. To renew the resident permit, the following condition must be met: he real estate property must remain in the full ownership of the applicant. Absences from the country do not impede the renewal of the resident permit, since there is no obligation for min.stay in the country. Since you kept the property you can apply for the renewal of your permit. Since it is expired perhaps an additional procedure might be requested, so it's better to advise a lawyer about it.
