As a Greek Golden Visa applicant, should I be worried about my online reputation?

I am interested in applying for the program, but some involvement in local politics in my home country has hurt my reputation somewhat and there are negative stories about me. I was never formally accused of wrongdoing, just a lot of rumors. Some global residency programs do background checks, but I would like to know more about my situation if it could lead to a denial.

The most compliant and legal sequence of actions regarding the procedure of Golden Visa is the following: The investor applies in the Greek consulate of his country for a visa type C in order to entry in Greece legally. In this application, and depending on the consulate’s policy, criminal records of the applicant are requested to be submitted. Since the events are only rumors, there is no reason to worry.

Greek authorities check your legal backround as a criminal record and the existence of the amount of money concering the real estate investment of the applicant of the Greek Golden Visa. No background checks for rumors.

Greek authorities will not check this, and as long as you respect the conditions set by Greek law, you shouldn't worry about it.

You do not have to worry about that. There is no such control.
