How does the Dutch government’s plan to discontinue the residency scheme for foreign investors affect current applicants?

I'm an investor from China and I recently obtained residency in the Netherlands via investment. I've heard the Dutch government plans to end this residency scheme for investors by the end of 2021. How will this affect my residency? Will it end too, or will I just not be able to renew it after three years?

At this point, it remains unclear what shape the new policy will take, but it is fairly realistic to expect that individuals and families who have already obtained an investor's residence permit will be able to extend it, as long as the normal requirements for extension are satisfied. The actual rules are expected to be published in the second half of 2021.
