How long does my passport need to be valid by the time I submit my visa application to Panama?

I want to participate in Panama’s investment immigration program. My passport expires in one year and one month. Do I need to renew my passport? I haven’t started preparing my applications yet.

At the moment of submitting your initial application, your passport must have at least six months left prior to its expiration. However, keep in mind that our residency by investment programs grants an initial resident permit of two years, making it compulsory to apply for a permanent residency permit prior to this; hence you'll need to renew your passport prior to that.
