Is it true that Greek Golden Visa investors can now schedule their biometrics appointment at any office of Greek Immigration Services?

I submitted my Greek Golden Visa application two months ago. I know that there has been a delay in case processing due to the large number of applications. My agent told me that Greece now allows a biometrics appointment to be scheduled at any office of the Greek Immigration Services to expedite the process. Is it true? How do I select an office, or will a specific location be assigned to me?

If you have any residence in Greece, you have to go to a specific office. If you don't you may go to any office or the one you submitted your application for your Golden Visa.

I am not aware of this detail but I guess that if your lawyer confirmed this information, it should be correct. The important detail is that an appointment should be scheduled for the finger prints.

Applications for the residence permits must be submitted to the one-stop service of the Alien and Immigration Department at the Decentralized Authority where the property of the interested party is located. For more information on your case, please contact the one-stop shop of the Decentralized Authority where the property is located. A list of all one-stop shops and their contact information can be found in the attached list. The third-country citizen, who has submitted an application and received the confirmation receipt described above, can reside legally in the country for the duration of the confirmation receipt (one year). The holder of the confirmation receipt is entitled to the benefits of the residence permit that they have applied for. Hence, they can proceed with any legal transaction regarding their investment and can transact with all the relevant authorities.

Please be aware that the new procedure is applicable for new petitions and not for those already appointed.

The following governmental decision was published in the government's official journal on April 3, 2019, in order to regulate the specific issue of the local authority responsible for applying for and issuing a permanent investor's residence permit, protect the credibility and prestige of the program and arrange the large volume of applications demand in urban centers. The provisions hereof apply from May 1, 2019: The applications for the granting and renewal of the permanent residence permit of an investor referred to in Article 20 per No 4251/2014, as in force, can be submitted and filed in anyone-stop service of Aliens Directorates and Immigration of Decentralized Administrations of the country after the 1st of May 2019. But applications already submitted under its provisions of article 20 par. B of law 4251/2014 until the date of entry into force of this law and pending on one-stop services of Aliens Directorates and Immigration of Decentralized Administrations of the country will be examined concluded by the department to which they are submitted. Besides the above, the appointment for biometric data submission is not an appointment that you have to wait for.

This is accurate. You will be able to send an email to an immigration office with less traffic in order to schedule the biometric appointment sooner. It does not matter where the property is located. This is a new rule that will start to apply from May 2019.

This is true, but since you already applied, you cannot change it now.

It is true that as per a recent ministerial decision, investors can now schedule their biometrics appointment at any office of Greek immigration services. This new possibility will apply from May 1, 2019, onwards. However, since you have already filed your Golden Visa application before a certain immigration office, you are obligated to schedule your biometric data collection to that particular immigration office.

It is true that currently, you can submit your Golden Visa application in any Immigration office throughout Greece you choose. The time needed for an appointment and for your application to be processed depends entirely on the workload that specific Immigration office has at the given time. You can select any Immigration office you want based on the next available appointment and how suitable that is with yours and your family’s schedule.
