Sunny Yang is an attorney who specializes in helping her clients with cross-border transactions between the United States and China. She conducts a litigation and a corporate practice centered around U.S. and China inbound and outbound business transactions.

Yang helps American clients identify and pursue investment opportunities in China, and she negotiates and structures business deals with Chinese companies that want to invest in the U.S. She advises her clients on corporate compliance, import-export, employment, immigration, license, and wealth planning issues.

Yang joined Duane Morris law firm in Pittsburg, Philadelphia in 2014. Previously, she was an attorney with Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP, also in Pittsburg.

She is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, New York, and the People’s Republic of China (PRC). In addition to the PRC and New York and Pennsylvania state courts, Yang also practices in U.S. federal courts in those states.

Yang is co-chairperson of the Asian Attorneys Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Executive Council for the Women in the Law Division for the Allegheny County Bar Association, third vice president and secretary of the Federal Bar Association – Western Pennsylvania Chapter, a board member for the Asian American Pacific American Bar Association of Pennsylvania (APABA-PA), and head of the State Outreach Committee of APABA-PA.

Yang earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, magna cum laude, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree, with honors, in corporate law and finance from Widener University School of Law in Delaware. She earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree, summa cum laude, and a LL.M., summa cum laude, in international business law from Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing, China. She received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree at Sichuan International Studies University, also in Chongqing. She speaks Chinese and English.
